Duzan: a word of Middle Eastern origin signifies to calibrate, to fine tune a work an action. “Duzan” was inspired was inspired by special chords that help achieve the perfect notes and capture the souls of the music listeners.
Much like the musicians, Duzan calibrates their food and fine tunes it to please your taste buds and bring warm memories of your mothers’ food from home. It is with pride and attention to meticulous details that Duzan chooses every bread, prepares and spreads every sauce, lays every slice and mixes every salad—it is these details they obsess about to make the perfect sandwich and dish.

This place is delicious and they have pretty quick delivery. I just wish they offered sides of their rice for purchase because IT IS DELICIOUS! Also, their pita is some of the best I've ever had.

I have ordered from Duzan 3 or 4 times now and everything I've had is delicious. The Kafta and Chicken shwarma are delicious and I could eat their pitas with their Duzan sauce as a meal by itself it's so good.
I want to give this place 5 stars...but I can't. And that's because every time (and I mean literally EVERY TIME) I have ordered from here, I have ordered the beef shwarma. And every time (literally EVERY TIME) I have gotten a call from them saying "We don't have beef shwarma today." If you are never going to have beef shwarma again, that's cool but then take it off the menu.

If there is a Best of Seamless award, Duzan deserves it. Of the dozen or so places that we order from regularly in our neighborhood in Astoria, Duzan has, in only two purchases, become the favorite.
When people talk about the quality of Middle Eastern food in Queens, they might not know it, but Duzan is what they're talking about. This is undoubtedly the best pita and the best topped hummuses I've ever had, and the second best babaganoush I've ever eaten. (The #1 honor goes to Al Salaam Deli in Savannah, GA.)
I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

The food was tasty and fresh. Portion could be bigger, but I would order again.

This place rules! The food is so fresh and awesome. Try and catch them on a slow night since they get really busy sometimes and there might be a wait because they're THAT good. You gotta try the Fatoosh, Chicken Shwarma & Kofta. They bake their own pitas in-house and they are AMAZING. Best Arab food in Astoria.

They lost us as customers.
Our 12/31 delivery order was an abysmal experience: arrived ~2 hours after confirmation on a 30-55m estimate, 2 calls to the restaurant, 2 calls with Seamless, and an order cancellation that they disputed because they delivered our food to some random guy on the street. (We had left for a hurried dinner as a last resort before leaving for a Broadway show.)
For our trouble, they offered a 10% discount on our next order.
There will not be a next order.
[Previous 5-star review: Don't think twice... just order. The falafel are tangy, the fattoush is complex, the hummus is nutty, and the desserts... OH MY GOD... the desserts. And lest your bitter New York hearts doubt the validity of my enthusiasm, know that I moved here from Dearborn, MI: we know how it's done.]

Hummus is outstanding. The other dishes I've tried are also very good. Delivery on the weekend can be a little long so stick to weekday or plan in advance.

I moved to Astoria two months ago and have yet to find my "go to" place... until now. Incredible flavors, large portions, reasonable prices, and fast service. You cannot go wrong!

Been grabbing the chicken Schwarrma salad platter with hummus. Delicious, fast delivery and very nice when you walk in. Very recommended.

Their fattoush is addictively good, get it with feta. Hand cut fries are super tasty and the falafels are yummy - they make them with pickles, beets, the works. I love this joint!!!

Ever since I discovered this place, I haven't ordered from anywhere else. The food is fresh, authentic and reminds me of the food I grew up with. Highly recommend the falafel, kafta kabob and hummus topped with shwarma.

This place surprised me. Their portions are huge and everything is super tasty. Seasoning was a bit spicy for me but still delicious. I love their pita!! Its freshly baked, thick and not dry at all. Can't wait to try their sandwiches. Will definitely be ordering again.

This place is the perfect food place: it's cheap and amazingly good.
I usually get the Chicken Shawarma or Duzan Mix Shawarma, and they are just super tasty. Oh, and their hummus is very good too!

Quality food at a great price with fast delivery to boot. The shawarma mix platter is the jam. My roommate and I almost unknowingly ordered from this place separately the same night.

I used to like ordering from here and then I got the chicken kebab platter (which I had gotten many times before) and it made me sick. The vegetables they pair with that used to be fresh and now they aren't. What happened?
Posted 8 months ago by Sue K.
I always get the fattoush--it's great and surprisingly filling for a salad. The owner will also go out of his way to make sure you're completely satisfied as a customer.

This is my follow up review. The first time we ordered from Duzan we were very disappointed - so much so that I reviewed them and gave them 1 star. We decided to give them another try and this time everything was really good. We got the chicken and shawarma platters, falafel, salad, and hummus. My favorites were the chicken, pita and tahini. They must have had an off day the first time we ordered and we are glad that we gave them another chance. We would order from here again.

This is my second time ordering from them, and they are amazing! I ordered the beef shawarma platter. The guy there promptly texted me a minute later telling me they no longer have the beef. I told him what I wanted intstead, and he said he would include a free dessert on the house and was super sweet about it. When I got my order, not only did he include everything I ordered, and the free dessert, but also a free order of falafel with a little smiley face saying "also on the house." THAT is the way to treat your customers! Really touched by the good service and will definitely reocmmend them to others!

Great business run by really nice people -food is just amazing; my favorite is the XL Shawarma Wrap in Lafeh. Ordered it twice, and it is just amazing. Incredibly filling, and really tasty. They also make the best falafel I had anywhere. Their desserts are also very good, try kunafa!
Must have ordered from this place tens of times at this point, and I will keep doing it!

I am surprised at how great the shwarma is, they really know their sandwiches. The falafel is just regular, really nothing bad and great in a pita but plain is nothing to write home about. Hummus is good if you like a nutty hummus, which I do, so it was great. Try the desserts!

Ordered for the 3rd time this week.. and man it's like falling in love over and over again. The chicken shawarma.. yummmm... was filled with flavor, the chicken was moist and delicious and the proportion of veggies to it pulled it all together. And then there's the falafel OMG awesome!!! Perfect fried. crispy balls of AWESOMENESS!!! This is the spot ya'll. Gotta try it.

The food here is delicious. The chicken kebab pita was juicy and yummy as was the falafel sandwich. We also ordered the fried pita chips with hummus. I highly recommend.
It did take about an hour for the food to arrive so order before you're too hungry.

It was well worth the wait! It was a bit busy so the wait was much longer but the food was excellent! We had the mix grill, the chicken kebab and tried the falafal and hummus. We were not disappointed and I can be critical sometimes.
Definitely ordering from here again.

Ordered a chicken schwarma on whole wheat pita and spicy sauce on the side, and a jalleli salad. The schwarma was excellent and the spicy sauce was a perfect condiment, and the salad was delicious and fresh. I'm only knocking off a star because the delivery took 1.5hrs and I had to call twice. Worth the wait, really.

Not the quickest delivery but their food is amazing. If you don't mind waiting a bit for that shawarma platter then you'll love this place :)
Posted a year ago by Laura F.
I didn't know pita could be so delicious! It's so common in Astoria that I thought of it as kind of a throw away item, just a vehicle for hummus. Duzan's pita is fluffy and fresh and something different altogether. The hummus yafa was silky and flavorful, but 2 pitas weren't enough for all of it. The baklava tasted homemade and was dusted with ground pistachios. Will definitely be trying more of the hummus platters, with extra pita.

Don't order the beef shwarma. We have ordered this twice and it is the second time it is not available. The first time we ordered it, they substituted chicken instead, without calling us. I did give them three stars though because the rest of the food was really good. I just hate when restaurants have items on the menu that they don't actually have.
Posted a year ago by Rebecca M.
It's hard to convey how delicious their hummus is. I've never tasted better, and can't even imagine a better recipe. And the shish and kofta kebab sandwiches are also pitch-perfect. One of these days I hope to drop by and just meet whoever the great chef/chefs are, because clearly they take pride in what they do.

Food is good, but delivery always takes forever. Delivery estimate is always 35-50 minutes, and at an hour 20, I am calling them to find out what is going on. Amazingly every time, the delivery guy "just left".
Like I said, the food is good, but expect a mad long wait.

Excellent service, I recieve it at the far end of the time suggested but it always tastes amazing, is packaged well, and worth every cent, they have a limited menu which offers great quality instead of quantity like other places..
You will probably get addicted to their fantastic meat and chicken or healthy "Best on Steinway" salads, fattoush and tabouli...

Food was promised within 35 to 50 minutes. Arrived an hour and a half after I ordered. When I called, I was met by a rude voice on the other end, and horrid customer service. Never ordering from here again.
Posted 2 years ago by Andrew F.
Not bad, fast delivery, food is good. They give you a lot of extra sauce which is nice. Price might be a tiny bit higher than I would like, all in all, I would order from them again and can't really complain.

The guy at Duzan is such a sweetheart. I love when he writes notes on the cover of the tin take-out container. Great chicken shawarma and falafel and super yummy pickled vegetables.
Edit: 2/4/12 Tonight I ordered from Duzan and this was the 2nd time that there have been issues with my order. First, I got a call that they had run out of something so I changed the item to something else that was cheaper. They offered me soda to make up the cost difference but I didn't want soda so they said that they'd send me $2 cash. When the delivery guy showed up, he knew nothing of this. I had to call to get it straightened out. When the delivery guy left and I sat down to eat, I noticed that they totally left off part of my order. I had to call again and they resent the delivery guy with the missing stuff. Last time, the delivery guy had gotten lost trying to find my apartment and kept calling me telling me he was outside when he was avenues away on a totally different street. When he got to my place 20 minutes after he started calling, my food was cold and french fries were soggy. I had to call and get the food redelivered. The food here is really good but I think that I'm done ordering delivery. I'll have to go to the shop in person to get what I want.

I have ordered from Duzan more than any other restaurant on Seamless. Their shwarma platter with hot sauce and garlic spread has become my standard order. The deliver can sometimes take upwards of 45 minutes to arrive, but the staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. Probably my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood.
Posted 2 years ago by Bret G.
I am sitting here waiting for my food to be delivered. I ordered it over an hour ago and I had to call them only to be told it should be here any minute with no offer of gratis or credit on my account for next time. I have only ordered here twice, but both time I have experienced this. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but I will not be ordering here again. The food is good, but there is other good Mediterranean food in Astoria. Should you decide to try your luck order way before you're hungry and expect to wait a LONG time for your food to arrive.
Posted 2 years ago by kasey s.
The food was good but customer service was deplorable. After the usual long wait for delivery we found that sauce was on both sandwiches(we asked for it SOS on one sandwich). We called to let them know. We weren't expecting them to send us anything, just let them know. The manager was extremely rude, arguing and not listening the entire conversation. I WILL NOT order from them again.
Posted 2 years ago by MICHAEL B.
Delivery time makes it a 1. Estimated delivery was 30-50 minutes. It has been an hour and twenty SO FAR... It took forty minutes to get a call to be told that one item was missing...I understand items run out, but 40 minutes to let us know? and then an additional 40 minutes and still no food. This is very disappointing.

I like the food at this place and the guys who work there are awesome but my first time ordering off seamless web will be my last. I placed an order at 8:30 and at 9:55 I just got it. They were out of whole wheat pita and rather than send the order and explain that to me when it got here in a reasonable amount of time, they called me 30 minutes after I placed my order tolet me know. Well I ordered online because my phone was dead so I did not get that message util 9:13. I called back immediately and said it was fine to send plain pita and asked if it would be a long wait. I was told 15 minutes. Well 9:15 to 9:55 is a lot more than 15 minutes and had I been told that I would have cancelled the order and just said send it to me tomorrow. This seems to be an ongoing problem with seamless web.
SO order from here because they are great but just call or you might wait an hour and a half for food.
Posted 2 years ago by Nicole S.
I made a mention when I placed my order that it was my first time ordering from them, and when they (very promptly) delivered my order, the guy was incredibly enthusiastic and grateful that I was trying them out - and there was a note inside the bag along with some extras, suggesting I try various sauces with my schwarma. The food was excellent - I'll never order this cuisine from anywhere else! - but it was the customer service and hospitality that won me over first. I'm a sucker for that.

We visit the restaurant about every other day and order occasionally. The staff knows us and how we like our sandwiches. The chicken schawarma is a classic. Chicken kabob sandwich and kofta sandwhich are just as amazing, if not better. The falafel is worlds better than any of the overrated Greenwhich Village hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

Pretty decent chicken shawarma, but not the best ever. The delivery was fast but I feel like I paid way too much for the food.

Usually good quality food with reasonable portions. Pricing is a bit high in my view. Also the chicken quality wasn't great a couple of times.

The chicken shwarma platter was ok but absolutely nothing special. The side of falafel was a big disappointment. The balls were spongy instead of crisp. I was disappointed overall but ate it all because I was starving. Delivery was quick.
Posted 3 years ago by Joshua F.
The falafel sandwich was great. The pita was packed to capacity with all the toppings I ordered and every bite was a little different, just the way I like it.
I ate the dessert, Kunafa, for the first time ever and loved it.

Best middle eastern food I had in Astoria. They were out of the lentil soup I ordered, so I tried the hummus instead, which was great, but they only gave one pita for it which was a little disappointing. Still great and recommended!
Posted 3 years ago by Russell D.
Excellent food. You get a lot for the price, especially in the lafeh bread. They ran out of lafeh for our last order, but they called to let us know and ask if it was all right for the shawarma to be in pita (which they stuffed to the point of almost bursting--and at one point mine did burst). They were very nice and apologetic on the phone, and since it cost extra for the lafeh, they gave us some baklava to make up for it. Now, I don't usually like baklava because it's always too sweet and mushy and walnutty, but this was very good and made with pistachios. The phyllo was crispy and it wasn't sickeningly sweet. I will definitely be ordering it in the future.
The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was the falafel, they were very dark, a shade before burnt. But everything else was good enough to make up for it, as were previous orders, so it still gets all 5 stars by me.
Posted 3 years ago by Carol L.
I've ordered here a few times and have been very pleased. The food was delicious and the servings were big. The hummus is delicious with shawarma, or with foul for vegetarians. The hummus servings are massive as are the sandwiches especially if you order the lafeh bread or the baguette.
Posted 3 years ago by Nicholas M.
The food is great! The hummus is really flavorful and shows me what I have been missing. The falafel is fresh and authentic and the pita is think and fluffy. I ordered with an Israeli and he swears this food is exactly like what you get in that part of the world. Authentic, fresh, tasty and fast service. Highly recommend.
